About Me

I love working with people who are making the courageous choice to ease their burden of anxiety and depression that is so prevalent in our society. I am wholly committed to the personhood of my clients and will work together to accomplish the goals that the client sets. I don't have an agenda other than to use my skills and person to be a resource on your journey of growth. I have a masters in professional counseling and additional training in EMDR and Exposure and Response Prevention, two evidence-based treatment modalities.

I have spent many years living abroad in the developing world and I appreciate that we all have our own stories and culture. I love this about our world and think that we can learn from each other as the human experience is universal, but how we meet its challenges is diverse. I have spent my own time "on the couch" after my husband passed away while we were abroad. This gives me a great respect for all who seek to do the hard work of changing and growing so that the demands of life are easier and we are more fulfilled.

Along with raising my family overseas, I have had a windy career path. My undergrad degree is in Mathematics and I have a certificate of Russian Language from Kazan State University, in Russia. I have taught at many levels and also directed academic and philanthropic organizations, but never really enjoyed that type of upfront leadership. I finally settled on professional counseling for my masters studies when I returned home a few years back. In all my jobs, the best part was always working individually with people or students, and I turned this passion into my full-time profession and have not looked back!

I enjoy my children and grandchildren and playing tennis. I also enjoy learning to knit, live music and watching good TV, my favorite genre being superheroes. I speak Russian and can get by in German and am always the most happy when I am driving to the airport to get on a plane to anywhere, but these days it is only for vacation! I am a CSU alumna and knew that Fort Collins was the only choice for me when I moved back to the States.
